Viatcheslav Plotnikov is a Monaco-based contemporary painter celebrated for his striking depictions of luxury, glamour, and traditional European charm. Since relocating to Monaco in 2000, he has established himself as one of the principality's most distinguished and sought-after artists, known for capturing the spirit of Paris, the French Riviera, and Monte-Carlo with cinematic clarity and historical sensitivity.
Plotnikov is the first—and still the only— artist to depict Monte-Carlo's complete visual history, creating a genre uniquely his own. His work blends documentary precision with romantic nostalgia, positioning him as a visual historian of Monaco’s evolving identity. Through carefully researched collections rooted in specific eras, he reconstructs the atmosphere, fashion, architecture, and social life of the Belle Époque years, and the Golden Age, allowing viewers to journey through time.
His signature technique—luminous oil painting, refined layering, meticulous detailing, and a vibrant, sun-lit palette—produces scenes that feel both opulent and intimate. Plotnikov’s mastery of light, architectural perspective, and period authenticity sets his work apart and contributes to its strong demand among international collectors. Each painting is executed entirely by hand, ensuring the integrity and authenticity value.
Plotnikov’s acclaimed series Golden Age and Glamour of Monte-Carlo have been exhibited at major exhibitions and auctions including Monaco Fine Arts Gallery, Accademia Fine Art Gallery, Saint-Paul-de-Vence Gallery, International Alexander Art Gallery, and Monte-Carlo Auctions, consistently achieving significant private sales in the five- to six-figure range.
As a recognized member of the Monegasque National Committee of L’A.I.A.P., UNESCO, under the patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, he has participated in numerous official exhibitions such as Salon “Corps et Âme”, Salon “Zone Sensibile”, Salon “L’importance des paysages dans la vie des hommes”, and multiple editions of Rencontre Artistique Monaco–Japon. His works were also been hosted by Gouvernement Princier, in the Salon d’art contemporain-Cote d’Azur « ArtMonaco », Grimaldi Forum from 2012-2024.
Today, Plotnikov’s paintings reside in prestigious private collections throughout Monaco and France. His art—uniting Monte-Carlo’s golden past with its contemporary grandeur—stands as a defining visual signature of the Riviera’s enduring glamour and cultural heritage.
